Who doesn't like new?

You may not like every new fangled gadget that comes out, but chances are pretty good that you enjoy something new every so often. What is it about a new thing? It could be a new song, new shoes, a newly organized area of the house, or new food from the grocery store. We enjoy it don't we? But a week or two or three later do we still enjoy that song, those shoes,...? Why doesn't it last?

I believe all these things are good, but they point out something about the world we live in. It's passing away. These things are pointing us toward something in us that longs for something new and that's a kingdom that is coming someday when all things will be made new for those that believe in Christ's payment for their sin. We long for all to be made right one day.

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had ceased to exist, and the sea existed no more." Revelation 21:1
